Visitors in Pahrump
In 2004, we were very blessed to receive three special vistors in our home: Rien, Huggette, and Veerle. I met them through the internet via chat before meeting them as they live in Belgium and we live in the United States.
While visiting us in our Nevadan home, they were able to attend the local SDA Church in Pahrump. At that time Pahrump had about 30,000 residents and about 20,000 'snow birds' which at that time were not counted as residents.
During their stay we took them to visit nearby Ask Meadows Wild Life Perserve, which is about 30 minutes outside of Death Valley. In this area are fresh water springs which are nice and warm all year long. Inside some of the ponds and streams are small fish called "Pup Fish."
Pup Fish were designated endangered in 1982, so the State owned parks with Pup Fish are very careful about people disturbing them. They are very small chunky fish just over 2 inches in length. They can strive in as little as 1/2 inch of water.
